Gonna reload my Draftkings account and take another shot this year with a different strategy.

I have the Rotogrinders Incentive Content access since I use their affiliate link to sign up. The best guy on there IMO is JMtowin. He's not an algorithm guy, but a true analyst and he breaks down every game telling you which, if any, players make good roster choices and why. Some weeks his breakdown articles go 10,000 words. He uses his own resulting list to make one roster, and one roster only for that week, and get this -- he uses it in everything: tournaments, 50/50's, and head to heads.  Last year he came in 12th in the Millionaire Maker one Sunday, and he always makes money year after year -- but of course he plays high stakes. I'm a convert to his philosophy that an ideal roster should be playable in any format.

So instead of making a half dozen rosters to play in $3 events I'm going to take my time to make one and enter the Millionaire Maker every Sunday. My personal twist on it will try to create a contrarian roster out of JM's picks. That's all I'm going to do except maybe play a few $3 college rosters here and there.

I went on Roto Grinders and found the affiliate deals , I was able to get the  Research Tools content for a year  by signing to a Daily Fantasy site.  I already had Draft kings but, was able to sign to Fan Duel  for one year  access .    I also received 5 free plays for joining and depositing on FanDuel . .gif beer

I checked out the daily fantasy competition ,  lobbies etc.  I still like the  Draft King Lobby better than Fan duel.  Another smaller site is Draft Day and I like that interface  as well,   I find Fan Duel a little cluttered with ads etc.  I also found when selecting a team on Fan Duel the amount left goes out of site during selection because of the ad clutter making the available screen smaller.   There are free bets on each to compare and get a feel for the one that suits individual needs best. beer

As for putting together teams , I will be hoping for some input from both yourself and roto grinder Research tools.  Last season I won some MTT money one week, but feel it was more to due with luck than skill.

I also do some straight up Sports betting , but drafting a winning team requires a different strategy .  Undecided beer

I am  trying some MLB  drafting on Fan duel with my free plays and some small MTTs  just to get back in the swing of it.     I had some luck betting MLB  this summer on my Pinnacle Sports Bet Site . I remember when you started this thread last season you thought there would be a ton of fish , which is probably true but with all the help out there it evens the playing field considerably.  beer

I'm not really understanding what chicken dinner gets out of this.

They don't have any real money wagers, but they pay out winners, and the site does not have ads (from what I've seen)?

How are they making any money off of this?

I finished in the money for my single entry Tournaments at Fan Duel.  I now Have a little more ammo for NFL.  Fan Duel is still my least favorite interface, but easily forgiven if  I win   $  . beer

I see they also affiliate a site  called Fantasy Draft.   That one could be used next time , if we still desire the premium content. thumbsup

RB: L Miller, R Matthews, D Washington, C West, E Elliot
TE: Cook, M Bennet, J Reed
WR: Cobb, K Aiken, J Jones, A Hurns, A Hopkins, AJ Green, G Tate, D Moncrief

I read JMtowin, that was a hell of a wall of text. Shocked    It will be nice to evaluate and watch his progress.  Maybe even get between the lines as you do and find a nice tourney play. I think you might have something with the  contrarian approach.   It's always high variance but nice if you hit.  beer   I have the Day off  tomorrow , I am hoping to take some time to sift through the DFS info .  beer beer

Are playing on Fanduel or DK this year? I might switch to FD after a couple weeks.

Since I had to join FD to get JMtowin I have a balance on both.  Still trying to get a feel for Fan Duel.   I will play on both for now and pick one if it seems more suited . beer

Yeah he stacked a QB with 2 receivers which is not usually a good tactic but when Brees has a big game I guess it's okay since they dont get many yards on the ground

I had AJ Green in most of my lineups

After some Study on various sites , this is what  I got out of it so far,  for week #2.    QB - Newton , Stafford or Manning      RB - De Williams , D Woodhead, Theo  R , C J Anderson.    WR - O Beckham , K Benjamin , Jordy Nelson , Chris Hogan .  TE - Jesse James , A Gates , E Ebron .    These names came up more than once. popcorn                     Any Sleeper  or Contrarian Ideas  Huh?    beer

P.S -  For anyone interested in Resource sites , these are what I have to date -  Roto Grinders - Fantasy Pros - Roster Nerds - DFS Gold - ESPN - FootBall Outsiders - CBS Sports " Injuries" .      They all have unique and helpful insights and most are free or have adequate free content . beer

I was already running with a lot of those picks before you posted that. I am basically ride or die with the Giants this week. Hopefully high scoring game for them.
