Back-story
While working on EndGame, I was fortunate enough to befriend a few individuals that are truly elite level poker players. Through conversations, email exchanges, and forum discussions we began working on a more personal profile. With the work of 4 people, 6 months time, and a mere 74 versions later, Retribution version 1.0 was born. It quite simply is, my personal profile.

To answer the question of why I am sharing this, it is for two very basic reasons. The first is that I am somewhat limited by geographical restrictions and time to be able to completely maximize my profits with this profile. The second is that I will likely start working on a profile of a slightly different nature. This ensures that I will not be running into my own profile during testing and therefore am not concerned about it being on the tables.

Profile Information
With that out of the way, on to what is the most important part. Retribution is designed as an aggressive short-handed profile. I have kept the full ring code from EndGame, which will make it play better in this format overall given the advancements to the post-flop code, but the work has all been towards 6-handed play. There is far more money and rake back to be earned on these tables.

The profile plays a tight style, I cannot be too specific to protect the identities of investors, but it is certainly a TAG style overall. The profile never limps (except what remains of the full ring code) and the only randomness occurs within the bottom range of 3 and 4-bets. It has proven to win over all positions except the blinds, which is common for any decent poker player.

I have included the RB line at 57% to show the true earning potential beyond that of even what is earned on the tables. This graph only took a few days to create given the volume of hands on speed poker.

lol, in fact i'm looking for a very good postflop profil. it's very hard to code all situations. I try to make a profil who can play in my place in the day in NL50.

What I said, which I stand by 100% is that the turn code is the best for sale code I have seen. I cannot say what it does differently or why I think that without disrespecting Aenima and/or customers.

All postflop is a matter of preference in terms of how often to c-bet, check-raise, fold etc and bet sizing. Then it's about betting or call chasing draws etc or quitting on later streets.

It's a logical well structured code and you will be able to change what you don't like.

I know that Aenima will be there for customers when his schedule allows and I'll help as best I can (subject to people being confirmed as genuine buyers)

I have been a member here a long time, and this code is quite literally the exact same thing that I use. 1.4 is the version out now, and there is not even one labeled as 1.5 yet. Not sure I can give it a better endorsement than that.

I know it is primarily aimed at 6 max, which is what I want because of rb, but does it still hold its own in FR at ipoker. Sorry if this has been asked.

I have not had it tested on full ring since Retribution was released. EndGame did quite well on full ring and the preflop is the same for both profiles. That portion of the preflop remains the same is always was, however it will of course rely on the improved post-flop of Retribution. So in theory, it should still perform quite well in full ring games.

Sorry if this answer is not based on thousands of hands of testing, but I certainly invite the opinions of somebody that has tried it on full ring to respond.

Can i use this profile to play speed poker ? How to setup this profile ?

I would prefer the profile related questions that have that much detail go to me email address, as I check that more often. However, since I have seen this now, 1.0 is graphed and 1.6 is the updated version. 1 of the versions had something I coded incorrectly, and I resent the next version within 1 day. That is why I feel confident in always using the latest version, but I leave that choice up to each person. 1.0 was tested officially, but 1.6 has been out for a few weeks now.


NL50 is a bit much for any profile longterm without HUD. The players quite simply think too much there. Anybody that tells you differently is either lying, or playing NL Holdem 12 years ago and not today. Not too say it can't hold its own and get some RB, but don't expect to be waking up with $100s added to your bankroll every day.

With that said, lower stakes have not been a problem.  I have not had anything officially tested on full ring since EndGame, but EndGame has done well on full ring and Retribution's post flop is so much further along. Testing was conducted more in the NL10 range, with larger graphs coming out of NL2 and NL4. I personally have never used my profile, or any other, below NL10 except for testing purposes.


It was not designed for speed, but I have found that it actually does quite well. So much so, that I have added code just for speed poker. The graph was done fully on speed poker to build volume quickly, so that should give a sense for how well it has done in this format.

does this profile works on 888??

I have honestly have not had any formal testing done on 888. If anybody has used this profile there and wants to let me know how it has fared, please email me at Aenima773@gmail.com. I am quite curious myself as the differences in playing styles on 888 versus a site like William Hill.

I can say that it has been my experience that a well coded profile will win on most sites, it just is able to play higher limits on some sites versus other sites. Hopefully that proves to be the case here as well.

I'd suggest trying the early versions (of endgame and ret) on 888, America's cardroom etc.

Some of A's fine tuning (which is very clever) get's lost on the newer sites where the bot has the odd brainfade moment and the original simpler code does better.

Im trying to understand this... you say it uses doodle 95 as default, but we are now at doodle 101.
does that mean everytime Egor will do an update on his Doodle that you will do one for yours accordingly to keep both profiles updated?

I do not alter my code every time Doodle gets updated. Retribution is such a vast code that it almost never uses Doodle anyway, so it really serves no point. I am not sure how many actual code lines get altered each time Doodle updates, but judging by previous installments it is something like 1-2 each time. Because of this, I feel it is very unlikely that Retribution is relying heavily on any of these lines that are changed. Besides if there was some code that was negatively impacted by me not having an updated Doodle, I would rather it get pointed out to me so I can update Retribution instead. Doodle is a fail-safe, not part of the actual plan.

Is it currently grinding a profit on ipoker speed tables? (aka, can it handle the 30 BB bots with shove/fold mode) I have seen the graphs, but it has been a while since then?

I have started playing towards a new graph for the ipoker regular non-speed tables and will get to speed after that. I'll start a new journal thread with it rather than clutter Aenima's thread.

The last sample I ran on speed with an un-modded retribution was several months ago and was nicely profitable with a good rakeback deal included.

It is important to note that the speed games have evolved as expected and the rake is very high (1c per 15c in the pot I think?), so a good deal is essential for any players there. Equally worthy of mention is that Aenima will help you with any losing situations/codelines you find.

I am a bit worried of dangerous moves, like losing stacks on the river with flushes vs paired boards, straights vs flush possible, straight vs higher straight. The profiles I bought wouldn't handle that very well :(.

Not the ideal spot for this discussion, so maybe SNG'll kindly move it somewhere better or you'll start it again in a not profile discussion thread, but good examples of tough spots for all profiles and something well worth discussing further. By nature, less frequent situations on later streets get talked about less, just as they happen less, but can be very expensive and make all the difference between a decent and an excellent or awful profile.

In the context of Aenima's stuff, I know that a lot of the "I love this bot however OMG's"  have been found and coded for, but against generic unknown villains there always going to be horrible spots. When a(ny) profile makes a move you really hate, if you don't want to ask the coder, quote the exact situation and the actioned line you hate on the ppl board and someone'll tweak it for you.

Most of these hands were fixed quite some time ago. Unlike most profiles out there, this was never designed to be sold. This was my personal profile created by myself, with the help of a few very high level players. The hands you are describing were sought out and eradicated from play. The very first 50 or so river lines all target these exact types of plays. If you give those a read, it should set your mind at ease some.

I cannot promise I found every single occurrence however, but I can say that you should only lose chips this way 1 time. If it ever occurs, email me the hand/log. I will make sure the same mistake does not happen again  beer.gif

1.7 has officially been launched. It is well.......not very tested as promised in the original sales thread. I did send it to out to 2 players initially just to be sure nothing major was overlooked. After a week of play, nothing has been sent back to me.

1.7 introduces a new LAG variable, which I will NOT describe in detail here. It does however add tremendous value overall, as the profile now has multiple playing styles incorporated into it.

It is from a mix of stakes, all below NL10, from iPoker.

I purchased Endgame, and am now using retribution. Even though I have now heavily modified the profile, it is the basis of the profile I am using to consistently beat FR cash games.

It plays speed poker well on the lowest blinds. I can cannot comment on hands per hour, as I don't have any good speed poker options living in the US.

Buyers get version 1.7, and 1.8 once I craft the profile launch email. It is 99% done and ready for sending.

It does not switch gears on its own, but there are both speed and LAG variables built into it. Some have found success in activating the LAG variable based on random stacksizes. It can switch gears using this variable, you would just need to decide when to make the change.

On speed poker specifically, just run a few tables with the regular profile and mix LAG in on another 1-2 tables. Players can't tell which version they are against in speed, so there is no need to actually change within each table.

There are no current plans to stop sales.

I have found botting to be very cyclical, meaning new people join the community while other people simply find new hobbies. I believe this creates a natural turnover, which limits the number of profiles being used at any given time.

This might be one of the most unhelpful posts possible. This gives no indication of stakes, sites, times, version, etc..... played. I have personally used this profile to make quite a bit of money, so I know it can win.

Please email me the bot logs for these hands that "Loosing too much of big pots" and I will take a look at them. If you don't have them any longer try and find the hands using HUD and send those (edit out the names if you want). I can't always adjust code from that alone, but I will try.

Is Doodle still required to run this bot?

It is always good to have Doodle as a .PPL backup, but it is unlikely many situations will use it. Doodle 95 and another free profile are buried within the code (after all Retribution code of course) to help make sure hands aren't relying on backup codes.

Retribution is the best profile so far for what I have runned. I think when many years ago when there was that "poker boom", this would have totally crushed micros. Like that time when many didn't even know what a cbet is  ;D.

I think I can post a graph when/if I hit like 50k or 100k hands. For 6max for myself I consider that a good sample to minimize effect of variance, which is sometimes sick in 6max even in micros.

I think many guys know a guy alias BlackRain79, if I remember correctly he thinks 50 buy-ins is a bankroll management even for micros in 2020. Guy seems like a real deal and he's like micros ain't no longer a "joke" as it was way back then.

Is that the out of the Box Retribution? I'm still trying to get to grips with it as I know you can modify a few variables which can force the bot to play a raise or fold style game.

So far I've had more luck with the default out of the box Retribution profile.

Yes that was out of the box -- I am also working on getting through all the code and  understanding its play -- I do have edits that I need to make based on 12K hands now --- All of these edits are tied to turn and river play just haven't gotten to this yet.

Good to know it's not me, the more I try the included variables, the more I'm convinced the more conservative play out of the out of the box is the way forward, it does some weird stuff on the river some times.

At some point I'll look into making some changes to the code and run some tests, but first I have to claw back that $99 dollars for the upfront cost!

Feel free to email me if you want to compare notes and work together on modifying the code.

Out of the box play is the suggested way to use the profile. The variables are usually a way for players to customize the code or a change of pace style of play.

Players on some sites and stakes may benefit from using them, but default should be the usual way of playing.

I've been using this for about a month and I'm finally turning consistent (but low) profits on NL 01.02. Over around 5000 hands the graph goes up, so I'm happy. Will push up to NL 02.04 at some point.

Be aware that the out of the box code has certain overrides enabled which effectively hamstring it, it took a long time for me to dissect the code and realise what was going on. The core code is exceptional, it just could be made clearer what was going on and what can and should be commented out.

I got to be honest. Not impressed with this profile. I left it run on 6 different tables over 6 different days (1 table at a time to make sure it works)

Every table lost all it's money in a matter of 20 minutes to 3 hour being the longest it lasted at a table.

The MTT and SNG profiles included do work pretty well, but those aren't the main Retribution.

I've tried it on NL5 and NL10 (the lowest possible ones I could get) and still loses.

Not trying to crap all over the profile I am sure it works decent-ish for others but for me it just hasn't performed to meet the 99$ payment.

Coming back here after giving this profile another try.

Still do not recommend it.

The profile is seeing a 105BB pot with 0 BB to call. Of course it's going to call.
