Title: Application Virtualization
Post by: SomeMoxie on November 06, 2010, 04:38:24 PM
Does anyone with knowledge of Application Virtualization (Citrix XenApp, Microsoft's App-V, Microsoft's Med-V...) see any potential in these technologies for use with the bot? From what I understand of at least the three apps above, the streamed apps still run, appear and are detectable by the OS. Is that incorrect, and/or is there a similar virtualized app technology that can run on a host computer, interact with the host, but be thoroughly undetected by the host? If it doesn't exist, I have to think some evil genius is working on it.

Just googled the citrix xenapp, sounds like an interesting concept. If its viable that the interaction can with the host can remain undetected then it would definately be useful!  character0049.gif

The way the bot works right now makes it impossible to have the bot and client in separate application environments.

a VM can solve some problems however, like hiding information about your actual physical hardware, other unique OS environment info, etc. which can be used to identify you.
