First hand (JJ): Checked to in last position on that flop holding have2ndoverpair with more than 1/3 of our stack invested looking at a 3400 pot with 2050 left in our stack. I like the push because any reasonable bet size is at least the size of our stack, and it is just too wimpy to not try and grab that 3400 pot. Not many of these opportunities come up. Betting less is not an option because it pot-commits us anyway. The only other option is to just give it up, that is try and check it down and fold to any bet - but again that is really wimpy and too dangerous that somebody will pull off a successful bluff or a K or Q will hit and beat us. You will not win many tournaments playing that wimpy.

Second hand (78): We had the third nut flush and were checked to in last position on the Turn. We bet and got one caller (there was no raise on the Turn), who bet the rest of his small stack on the river into us. On the river it was exactly 19 BB's to call for a 92 BB pot when holding 3rd nut flush. Folding that river for that size bet into that size pot with that hand would be the worst play in the history of poker I think.

Third hand (99): After the flop continuation bet (a very reasonable bet with only one non-ace overcard on board) we had half our stack invested and so were pot-committed. You don't seem to understand this concept; either that or you disagree with it - which is fine. I can see maybe trying to fold to the raise on the flop and try and save the small stack to attempt to make a comeback with. However I choose to call 50% stack invested as pot-committed in this profile, and that seems to be working better overall. Needing to win two coinflips to get back to where we would be if we win this hand is about the same odds as us sucking out here with the straight or the set, and with the chance of the raiser semi-bluffing I prefer going in here.

The stacksize misread doesn't belong on this thread and might be fixable by adjusting your screen resolution and/or playing fewer tables.

Thanks for the hand histories however.

JJ hand man its hard to fix but first player checked he's 2 pair
 hoping for a bet or a push if we checked the flop he would of bet the turn and we could of folded

hand 78 he had like 15K over me
if it was not a 4 card flush on board yeah this hand was played fine
the bet on the turn yeah thats ok see where we are at
but the river being the 3thnuts on 4 card flush board like that there is really no way calling any bet will pay off in the long run

hand 99 yeah 2thoverpair and gutshot yeah its a mtt so had to make the play

I stand by my analysis of those hands based on what I have already said. The totalinvested numbers and potsize numbers are important to the decisions and I like the plays. I don't want to debate it with you any further, but anybody else is welcome to post their own analysis of them here - because those two hands are interesting situations.

line 67: When StackSize <= 9  and ( hand = A suited  or hand = A K  or hand = A Q  or hand = K Q  or hand = Q J suited  or hand = J T suited  or PairInHand ) RaiseMax force

I was running mtt.txt the full txt files as in without a .ppl

What correction can I make so this would not happen, mainly going all-in pre-flop with a pair of 4s.  Or was this just a glitch of some kind.

I am a newbie to this so please forgive my ignorance.

After looking at it some more, I realized if I delete the "or PairInHand" part of line 67 that would take care of it, right?

You learn fast for a noob.

I like the play. You have less than 9 big blinds there and 44 is a favorite over AK, AQ, etc. and even a hand like A9 is prone to call your small stack pushing. If you don't make a move quickly you will be blinded down to being crippled very shortly, and then need to win a coinflip just to get back where you are now. So you would need to win two coinflips in a row instead of only needing to win one right now, to get back in it.
